Pacific Extends Unbeaten Streak to Four with Scoreless Draw at Oregon State

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Pacific women's soccer program fought the dampened elements all afternoon with Oregon State, ultimately deadlocking into a 0-0 draw on Saturday at Paul Lorenz Field.

In the first-ever West Coast Conference clash in Corvallis, Oregon, the Tigers (4-6-6, 1-3-4 WCC) earned their third straight draw and sixth overall despite applying heavy pressure in the second half against the Beavers (2-9-5, 1-6-1 WCC).

While OSU ended up out-shooting in the shot attempts department by a 13-10 margin, it was Pacific who pressed in the latter of the match with an 8-3 differential in its favor. The Tigers recorded one more shot on goal in the process for a 4-3 edge.

Of the surging second-half offense, senior Haley Johnson was one of four different Tigers to take a shot on goal. Johnson's header came off a set piece that nearly found the white netting but was snatched by the Beavers' keeper.

Defensively, freshman Lis Van Herwijnen was test mostly in the first half of the contest, totaling all three of her saves during that 45-minute stretch. Van Herwijnen now has four clean sheets on the year – three of which coming in scoreless draws – and has lowered her goals against average to 1.82 in 11 starts.

The Tigers will now look ahead to their WCC road finale at Saint Mary's next Saturday at 3 p.m. at Saint Mary's Stadium.
