STOCKTON, Calif. – On a chilly fall night in Stockton, the Pacific women's soccer program went toe-to-toe with San Francisco, earning a 0-0 draw in its Pink Game on Wednesday night from Knoles Field.
The Tigers (4-6-5, 1-3-3 WCC) earned their fifth draw of the 2025 campaign, dancing with the Dons (2-8-4, 1-4-2 WCC) in the defensive dual throughout the evening.
Pacific extended its unbeaten streak to three consecutive games with the clean sheet at home. It's the third time of the five draws this season that the Tigers and their opponent did not find the back of the net. The five draws in this season stands as the third most in a campaign since 1993. The most was 2022 with ten draws.
Despite not scoring a goal, the Tigers had their chances, notably sophomore
Kayla Pham in the second half in which she recorded the lone shot on goal that nearly snuck into the upper right corner. Pham was inches away from notching a second straight home game with a goal as she did so against Santa Clara during Homecoming Weekend, collecting the game-winner in that one. Pham played 43 minutes tonight, coming off the bench.
Defensively, freshman
Lis Van Herwijnen was tested for the majority of the contest in the first half, stopping all four Dons shots on target for her third clean sheet of the season and second of West Coast Conference action. Van Herwijnen began the WCC schedule with a scoreless outing at San Diego. Van Herwijnen lowered her goals against average to 2.00 in the process with her performance on Wednesday.
The Dons pressed early on in the contest, out-shooting the Tigers by a 7-1 margin after 45 minutes. The script flipped in the second half as Pacific applied more pressure then, ultimately taking three shot attempts to USF's two. The Dons had two more corner kicks in the match, winning the ratio, 5-3.
Up next, Pacific hits the road to face Oregon State with a noon scheduled kick-off in Corvallis, Oregon on Saturday. It will be the first the Tigers face the Beavers on the road as a conference opponent.
