PORTLAND, Ore. – The Pacific men's soccer program dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 4 Portland on Saturday night at Merlo Field.
The Tigers (3-9, 1-4 WCC) fell behind early to the high-powered offense of the Pilots (10-0-2, 3-0-2 WCC) as a three-goal first half proved to be the difference in the rain-filled contest.
Sophomore
Ezekiel Padilla notched his first goal of the season in the 63rd minute of the match, bringing Pacific within two goals at the time of his strike. It marked Padilla's first goal since he scored against Portland last season on Oct. 9, 2024. Senior
Massimo Erfani was credited with the primary assist, giving him his first career helper as a Tiger.
Junior
Milo Risenhoover drew in his third consecutive start in goal. The native of Portland, Oregon was tested all night and collected two saves in the performance in front of his hometown crowd.
The Pilots scored three goals in a 15-minute span to go up 3-0 early thanks to the connections between Joe Highfield and David Ajagbe. Padilla broke the shutout bid for the Pilots midway through the second half, but Portland iced the contest with a fourth goal in the 73rd minute.
Pacific returns home for its next match, facing Gonzaga at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Knoles Field.
