WSU Gets Past Pacific in Second Half

PULLMAN, Wash. – For just the second time this season, Pacific women's basketball conceded more than 10 three-pointers in an 82-70 defeat to Washington State on Thursday night from Beasley Coliseum.

The game was tied 36-36 at half when Washington State (14-10, 9-4 WCC) connected on five threes in the second half, while the Tigers (11-11, 7-5 WCC) were without one. For the game, WSU was 11-of-27 (.407) from long range, while Pacific was 2-of-7 (.286).

Senior Anaya James registered 19 points on 9-for-17 shooting. She also secured five rebounds and in doing so eclipsed 500 career boards – making her just the second Tiger in program history to accumulate 500+ rebounds and assists.

Graduate Liz Smith finished with 14 points and was 7-for-7 from the free throw line, including a sequence to close the first half in which she scored six points in the final 30 seconds.

Off the bench, freshman Daria provided 10 points while senior Elizabeth Elliott contributed 10 points in her first start since Jan. 9 against Santa Clara.

Junior Sydney Ward grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and helped Pacific outrebounded WSU 38-36.

Up next, the Tigers travel to Spokane for the team's first look at Gonzaga. Tipoff from the McCarthey Athletic Center is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
