Men’s Tennis Puts Up Valiant Fight at No. 2 TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Pacific men's tennis program hung around in the doubles point and put up a fight in singles in a 4-0 defeat at No. 2 TCU on Saturday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

The doubles duos of juniors Terence Das/Tiago Silva and freshman Jonty Giesen/sophomore Christof Schaertlin Coffey pushed TCU (4-0) in the doubles portion of the match, but both ultimately conceded the point with 6-4 losses.

Pacific (2-1) carried that same fight over in singles as Silva was even in a third set at No. 1 singles in an unfinished match 6-3, 3-6, 2-2. An unfinished third set also took place on court three as senior Justas Trainauskas won the first 6-3, before falling 6-4 in the second.

The Tigers were up a set on court 6 as Giesen held a 6-2 edge.

Pacific wraps up its Texas tour tomorrow at 10 a.m. with a match-up against Liberty. The Flames fell to nationally ranked Michigan State in their match earlier today.
