LOS ANGELES – Riding a nine-match winning-streak, the Pacific volleyball program will begin West Coast Conference play with road matches at LMU at 6 p.m. Thursday at Gersten Pavilion, and Pepperdine at 12 p.m. Saturday at Firestone Fieldhouse.

The Tigers (10-2, 0-0 WCC) are on their longest winning-streak since 2014 when they won 10 straight. They are opening conference play on the road for the fourth straight season.

Pacific will look to knock off a Pepperdine (3-7, 0-0 WCC) squad that was predicted to win the league in the WCC Preseason Poll. The Tigers will be going for their first win in Malibu since 2014.

Pacific will also look to take down LMU (8-3, 0-0 WCC), which was predicted to finish third, while the Tigers were picked fourth preseason. Pacific is 13-10 all-time against the Lions.

Darina Kumanova was named AVSR Global Player of the Week on Monday. The Sofia, Bulgaria native smashed 16 kills (3.0 k/s) over the three matches and ripped a team-high eight aces. She aided defensively with four blocks.

Alexa Edwards ranks first in the WCC in kills with 4.40 per set and points with 4.81 per set. She was named Tournament MVP after both the Charleston Classic and Fresno State Tournament. Edwards was the WCC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 16.

Emily Van Groningen we named to the All-Tournament Team at both Charleston and Fresno State. Heller ranks third in the WCC in assists with 9.50 per frame.

Jayhlin Swain leads the team and ranks second in the conference in digs with 4.25 per set.

Pacific's first three WCC matches are on the road before playing the home opener Saturday, Oct. 5 at 12 p.m. against Santa Clara.
