FRESNO, Calif. - Riding a six-match winning-streak, the Pacific volleyball program will conclude its non-conference slate at the Central Cal Challenge against CSU Bakersfield, Sacramento State and the host Fresno State at Save Mart Arena.
The weekend for Pacific (7-2) begins with a 6 p.m. Friday bout against Fresno State (3-5), which will be the only match streamed on the weekend. The Tigers will face CSU Bakersfield (5-4) at 3 p.m. Saturday and Sacramento State (6-4) at 12 p.m. Sunday in neutral court matches.

Fresh off a player of the week recognition, graduate outside hitter
Alexa Edwards looks to build upon her sensational start to the season. Last week, the outside hitter accumulated 47 kills, averaging 4.70 kills per set, while racking up five kills in Pacific's 5-1 run to down GCU Classic host Grand Canyon in the tournament finale.Â

Edwards ranks first in the West Coast Conference in kills per set (4.22), while pacing the league with 156 kills. The mark ranks her 32nd in the NCAA through week three.Â

Matching Edwards' success is senior setter
Jenna Heller, who ranks fourth in the WCC in assists per set (9.08). She leads the Tigers with 336 assists through nine matches. Heller is second on the team in digs, racking up 104 through the first three weeks. Through nine matches, she has grabbed a double-double in assists and digs in seven of them. She currently has a six match double-double streak.

Junior middle blocker
Emily Van Groningen is off to a hot start, leading the Tigers with 31.0 blocks. She ranks fifth in the conference in hitting percentage, going for 87 kills on 210 attacks and 22 errors for a .310 hitting percentage.

Jayhlin Swain comes off a career high 22 dig match against Grand Canyon. The junior ranks second in the league with 4.08 digs per set, tallying 151 so far this year to lead all Tigers.Â

Pacific went perfect in last year's Central Cal Challenge in Stockton, grabbing wins over CSU Bakersfield, Sacramento State and Fresno State. The Hornets were the lone team to get a set off the Tigers last year.Â

Pacific is 34-3 against Fresno State in the all-time series and have won the last four matches dating back to 2007. The Tigers are 12-3 against the Bulldogs in Fresno.

Pacific leads the series 7-1, last sweeping the Roadrunners in straight sets in Stockton. On a neutral court, the Tigers are 2-0 over Bakersfield.

Pacific is 30-7 in the all-time series against the Hornets dating back to the 1976 season. The Tigers have defeated the Hornets in the last two meetings.Â
