Tigers Keep Winning Streak Alive in 4-3 Victory over Dons

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.- The Pacific men's tennis team maintained its two month active winning streak after defeating San Francisco 4-3 on the road for its first conference win of the season.

The Tigers pulled off the comeback over the Dons after San Francisco clinched the doubles point to start the afternoon. Senior Peter Alam got the Tigers on the board after a 6-4, 6-2 win over Paul Theate. Alam improved to 7-0 in singles on the season and 3-0 playing from court two.

San Francisco struck back on courts one and four to take the 3-1 edge, but the Tigers dug in deep and muscled back on the final three courts to clinch the win. Senior Andre Rodeia was the next Tiger to strike, chipping away at USF's lead after defeating Roman Lafond 7-5, 7(8)-6(6) on court six.

Sophomore Terence Das bounced back into the win column after his match went to three sets. He took down Giovanni Branchetti 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 on court three to tie the match 3-3. Das moved to 9-1 on the year and 4-0 when playing from court three.

Senior Ran Amar iced the match after battling Davide Cortimiglia on court five. Cortimigilia grabbed the first set 7(7)-6(1), but Amar pushed back by capturing the final two sets 6-2, 6-4 to win the match for the Tigers. He improved to 8-1 on the season, while extending his single match winning streak to seven.
