SAN ANTONIO, Texas - After a few delays to start the match, the Pacific men's tennis team cruised to a 5-2 win over the Roadrunners for its eighth consecutive match win.
The Tigers claimed the final two doubles courts to clinch the doubles point to start the day up 1-0. Sophomores
Terence Das and
Tiago Silva captured a 6-4 win on court two, while No. 26 Tiger tandem senior
Peter Alam and junior
Justas Trainauskas collected the point after a 7-5 win on court one. The pair improved to 7-1 on the season, while Silva and Das collected their fifth win together, moving to a 5-2 doubles record.
Silva and Trainauskas recorded the first two singles wins, with Silva striking down Danijal Muminovic 6-1, 6-1. Trainauskas defeated Tiago Torres 6-3, 6-2 on court one.
Alam clinched the match from court three after downing Tomas Pinho 6-4, 6-3. He remains unbeaten this season in singles, grabbing his sixth win of the year. Playing through the singles, the Roadrunners got two back on courts two and six. Senior
Ran Amar cemented the win by edging out UTSA in the ten point tiebreaker. He defeated Jackson Ross 6-4, 6-6, 10-4 to move to 7-1 in his singles matches.
The Tigers round out their week in Texas with a neutral site match against Georgia State on Saturday, March 16 at 9 a.m. PT.
