SAN ANTONIO, Texas- The Pacific men's tennis team captured its seventh consecutive match win after downing Prairie View 7-0 in San Antonio.
The Tigers improve to 8-1 on the season for one of their best starts in their more modern history. It's their third shutout win this year and second sweep at a neutral site.
Pacific clinched the doubles point after sophomores
Tiago Silva and
Riley Hillenbrand downed the Panthers 6-1 on court three. Senior
Ran Amar and freshman
Christof Schaertlin Coffey moved to 5-1 together on the season after defeating Prairie View on court one 6-1 to clinch the doubles point.
The Tigers went for their second singles match sweep in a week after collecting all six wins on all six courts.
Sophomore
Terence Das recorded a 6-3, 6-0 win over Abdulraheem Isa on court one to extend his unbeaten streak to eight. Amar cruised by Eduardo Nunez del Prado Flores 6-0, 6-1, while Silva swept Diego Hatem 6-0, 6-0 on court three.
Senior
Andre Rodeia defeated Xavier Peter-Gooding 6-0, 6-3 from court four to extend his singles match winning streak to three. Hillenbrand collected his first singles win of the year with a 6-0, 6-1 win on court six over Ryan Boone. Schaertlin Coffey improved to 2-0 in his singles appearances after a 6-0, 6-2 win over Jaydn Boone on court five.
The Tigers return to action on Friday, March 15 as they take on host UTSA at 11 a.m. PT.
