STOCKTON, Calif.- In its second home match of the weekend, the Pacific men's tennis team held strong through a nearly four hour bout to edge out Sacramento State 4-3 on a win by
Terence Das on court four at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
The Tigers (5-1) took the doubles point to open the day, despite the Hornets (5-4) striking first on court two. Senior
Ran Amar and freshman
Christof Schaertlin Coffey claimed the 6-3 decision on court three before senior
Peter Alam and junior
Justas Trainauskas clinched the point on court one with a 7-5 win.
In a bout of long winded singles, the Tigers held out strong. Alam put the Tigers up 2-0 after defeating Mate Voros 6-2, 6-3 on court two. Amar followed suit with a 6-3, 6-3 win on court five over Jiri Novack. The Hornets took the next three courts to tie it 3-3. The match was decided in a close battled on court four.
Das took the first set 7-5 over Sacramento State's Adam Chodur. Chodur claimed the second narrowly with a 7-6 (1) win. The sophomore Tiger was finally able to break through to clinch the match, defeating Chodur in the final set 7-5.

The Tigers head back out on the road, as they travel to San Diego. They'll play a neutral site match against Ball State before embarking to the Pacific Coast Doubles Event.
