Home Weekend on Tap for Women's Basketball with WCC Opener Thursday, Cal Saturday

STOCKTON, Calif. – To open the month of December, Pacific women's basketball hosts its first conference game of the season Thursday against Oregon State at 6 p.m. and hosts Power Four competition California at the Alex G. Spanos Center on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Thursday's showdown is the first series matchup with the Beavers since 2021 but not the first time the two teams will meet as conference foes. The first two match-ups in the series came when both schools were members of the NorPac Conference in 1983 and 1984.

In the present, Pacific is returning home from a New Orleans trip that saw the Tigers earn their first win over a Big 12 opponent in program history, defeating Houston 64-60. Leading the charge in that effort was senior Elizabeth Elliott, who went for a career-high 26 points on 11-for-15 shooting.

On Saturday, Pacific welcomes California to Stockton for the first time since 2017. All-time the program is 2-5 against the ACC while head coach Bradley Davis is 1-0, having defeated North Carolina in Chapel Hill during his first season as head coach.

Junior Lauren Glazier was a dual threat for the Tigers in New Orleans, averaging 11 points per game, 3.5 rebounds per game and 2.0 blocks per game. Against Lamar, the junior matched her career-high blocks when she swatted four shots away.

On the defensive end, the starting guard combo of senior Anaya James and graduate Liz Smith are both over 20 steals on the season, making them the only players in the WCC with 20 or more steals this season.

Both games this week will be streamed on ESPN+.
