Women’s Basketball Opens Season against Stanislaus State at Home

STOCKTON, Calif. – The 10th Pacific women's basketball campaign under head coach Bradley Davis is set to officially tip off Monday at 11 a.m. from the Alex G. Spanos Center against Stanislaus State.

The team this year is headed by a trio of 1,000-point scorers in seniors Anaya James, Elizabeth Elliott, and graduate Liz Smith. Elliott was the team's leading scorer and rebounder from a season ago, averaging 13.1 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game. James returns as the first Tiger to eclipse 200 assists in a season this century. Smith meanwhile was one of only three players in the West Coast Conference last season to sink over 100 free throws.

The trio is joined by six newcomers in Arizona State transfer Marina Radocaj, Midland College transfer Luisa Anderegg, and freshmen Tyla Fautua, Daria Nestorov, Kailey Neave, and Alva Lindvall.
Stella Szabo will also be making her collegiate debut after redshirting last season.

For coach Davis' part he is closing in on the title of all-time winningest coach in Pacific history, entering the season with 125 wins, which is 11 away from passing his predecessor (Lynne Roberts) and 16 from passing Melissa Taketa (1988-98).

Pacific has been playing Stanislaus State since the 1970's when both schools were members of the Northern California Athletic Conference. Pacific has owned the series of late by winning the last 10 meetings, including the last match-up in 2015 during coach Davis' first year at the helm.

The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
