Tigers Kept In Check at San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – As the fog rolled through the Hilltop, the Pacific women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to San Francisco on Sunday afternoon at Negoesco Stadium.

The Tigers (2-14-1, 0-7 WCC) out-shot the Dons (5-8-2, 1-4-2 WCC) in the second half, but an early deficit ultimately gave the home team the result.

"Playing in the WCC is difficult," co-head coach Danesha Adams said. "Being a Division I athlete is difficult. We have to keep getting better at dealing with difficult things. We had some good good looks today that we didn't put away, but we have a week to prepare for another game on Saturday. We will do all we can to have the group prepared. We get a week to recover and prepare for our last home game of the season!"

The two programs battled back and forth in the later stages of the match with USF edging Pacific in shot attempts, 17-14.

Ten different Tigers registered a shot attempt on the afternoon with sophomore Kaya Rosa and sophomore Grace Campos recording their attempts on target.

Junior Alexis Pashales logged the most minutes among Pacific forwards, playing 75 while collecting a pair of shots on target.

Redshirt freshman Hannah McFarlane made her second start and fourth appearance of the season in goal, totaling a career-high seven saves in the effort defensively. McFarlane made a key save early on to keep the match scoreless.

The Dons struck twice in the first half, once in the seventh minute and another in the 29th minute. San Francisco added one more in the 53rd minute, resulting in the final score of 3-0.

Pacific returns to action at 4:30 pm on Saturday, Nov. 2 as part of busy day of home athletic events. Kick-off against Saint Mary's is scheduled for 4:30 pm with a live broadcast available on ESPN+.
