Pacific Drops Road Contest at No. 7 Santa Clara

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Pacific women's soccer team fell 5-0 to No. 7 Santa Clara Saturday at Stevens Stadium.

The Tigers (2-12-1, 0-5 WCC) had opportunities to find the back of the net early, but the Broncos (10-2-2, 4-0-1 WCC) carried the pace for the result.

"We will take a bit of time to analyze things from today's game before turning the page and moving forward to what's next," co-head coach J.J. Wozniak said. "Our players know there is still a lot of soccer left to be played and more opportunities to perform at a high level and win games. We will be ready for Wednesday night!"

Pacific registered two shots on goal, one from freshman Brianna Norman and the other coming from junior Alexis Pashales, which both were attempted in the first half.

Freshman Sierra Schwarz made her ninth consecutive start in goal, totaling nine saves in 67 minutes. Redshirt freshman Hannah McFarlane played the final third of the match in goal, collecting one save in relief of Schwarz.

Junior Trianne Cooper played the most minutes for Pacific, logging 87 on the afternoon. Pashales competed the longest among the forward group with 76 minutes.

Pacific continues WCC action, returning home for Senior Night against San Diego on Wednesday at 7 pm at Knoles Field.
