Pacific Dominates Loyola Marymount for 10th Win of Season

STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific women's basketball earned its 10th win of the season and moved into a tie for second place in the West Coast Conference standings with a 75-54 win over Loyola Marymount on Thursday at Alex G. Spanos Center.

"I thought we did a good job playing team defense and talking," said head coach Bradley Davis. "The defense created some offense early. I think which is why our shooting percentage was so good in the first half. We're getting easy looks at the basket. That's a benefit. I was very pleased how they shared the ball, 21 assists on 29 made shots."

Senior Kadie Deaton had a career day as she led the way with her first 20-point performance, shooting 7-of-13 overall, 3-of-6 from the three-point line and 3-of-4 at the free-throw line. The Wausau, Wis. native also tallied a career-high eight assists and grabbed two boards to reach the 300th career rebound milestone.

Sophomore Sydney Ward scored a career-high 13 points and registered five rebounds. Junior Elizabeth Elliott finished with 11 points and six boards. Junior Anaya James posted a season-high 10 rebounds and seven assists.

Pacific kept building its lead by double digits throughout the contest. The Tigers' largest lead was 27 which happened at the 2:10 mark of the fourth quarter.

Pacific was 29-of-53 (.547) in shooting while recording a season-high 8-of-14 (.571) from the three-point line and registering 9-of-12 (.750) at the free throw line. LMU was 20-of-69 (.290) from the field, 6-of-22 (.273) from behind the arc and 8-of-11 (.727) at the charity stripe.

The Tigers had a 36-26 advantage in the paint and 22 points off the Lions' 15 turnovers.

"We came to prove a point that we needed to win by more than just winning," said Ward. "I think we really did that tonight. I really have confidence in all my teammates."
