STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific volleyball program and Head Coach Greg Gibbons have announced the signing class for the upcoming 2023 season.
Five players are set to join the team, with Dylan Gilkey, Zoe Morales, Shelby Gorospe, and Alessia Brown entering their first season of collegiate volleyball, while Ashley Davies comes in as a junior transfer.
"We are very excited to add this extremely competitive class to our veteran team," Gibbons said. "Adding Shelby, Dylan, Zoe, Alessia, and Ashley will provide the final piece to our roster that gives us depth and experience at every position."
Gilkey joins the Tigers after finishing a stellar four-year career at Cedar Park High School, where she compiled 3,475 assists, 174 service aces, 1,105 digs, and 202 kills in 491 sets played. While at Sunrise Mountain, Gorospe accumulated 607 kills with a hitting percentage of .350. The 6-2 middle blocker recorded 240 blocks throughout her career and tallied 0.7 blocks per set during her senior season.
In her final season of competition at Sunrise Mountain, the Peoria, Ariz., native led the Mustangs to a 24-9 overall record and a first-place finish in the 5A- Northwest Section. Guiding the team with 197 kills on 394 attempts and 61 total blocks, Gorospe helped lead the Mustangs to a semifinal appearance in the AIA State Girls Volleyball Championships.
Brown, the final player entering her freshman season with the Tigers, comes to the team after competing at Tesoro High School and most recently at the club level with A4 Volley. Brown, a native of Dana Point, Calif., participated in two seasons with the Titans, competing during her freshman and sophomore years.
Davies, the lone transfer in the 2023 signing class, comes to the team after competing for two seasons at San Diego City College. During her tenure with the Knights, the 5-8 outside hitter accumulated 316 kills and ranked second on the team with 154 during the 2022 season. Playing in 142 sets, Davies totaled 436 digs and 47 blocks, setting career highs in both categories in her freshman season.
While competing with the Knights, Davies earned California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) All-Conference First Team honors, the Ed Ruffa Outstanding Sophomore Athlete Award as a sophomore last season, and was named Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) Player of the Week on September 21, 2021, during her freshman season.
