STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's tennis team (6-6, 1-3) hosted #62 LMU (8-6, 3-2) for the second home match of the weekend. The Tigers #1 doubles team continued to shine, but Pacific dropped the contest 4-0.
"Tough one for our group today," said Head Coach
Mike Erwin. "After yesterday, we felt we had a real opportunity in this match. It was good to have Klara and Karina back up yesterday's doubles win with a win today over the #27 doubles team in the country. We are looking for our group to learn from and respond to this loss."
One day after beating the number one singles pairing in the nation, senior
Klara Kosan and sophomore
Karina Chao continued their dominant run in doubles, picking up their sixth win and second straight win over a ranked opponent today on court one, 6-2.
The Tigers could not put away the Lions in doubles after the early doubles win, with LMU picking up wins on courts two and three to take the doubles point.
Pacific could not pick up a win in singles, with the Lions taking wins on courts five, three and one to take the match 4-0.
The Tigers are back in action next weekend, hosting Cal Poly at noon on Friday before traveling to Saint Mary's on Saturday. The Saturday match will start at noon.
