SAN FRANCISCO - Pacific women's tennis team (5-4, 0-1) kicked off WCC Play with a loss against San Francisco (9-4, 2-0) in a close contest, 4-3.
"Tough match for us today," said Head Coach
Mike Erwin. "We got out to a slow start in doubles and had our chances at 3-all against a veteran San Francisco squad. We are looking for our group to respond at Santa Clara tomorrow."
The Tigers got off to a slow start to begin the competition, dropping the first two doubles sets, with the last one resulting in an unfinished result.
The momentum from doubles shifted when the Tigers picked up 3 singles matches. On court #1,senior
Klara Kosan went all three sets, winning the first one 6-1, dropping the next 6-4, but battling back and securing the point 6-4. On court #3, sophomore
Karina Chao remained undefeated in singles by defeating her USF opponent in a quick 6-1, 6-1 singles match. In singles on court #4, senior
Zoe Clydesdale-Eberle picked up a singles point for the Tigers in a 7-6, 6-2 match.
Pacific will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, Mar. 25, against the Santa Clara Broncos (0-10, 0-2). The first serve will be at 11 a.m.
