STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's basketball team (12-16, 7-10) wraps up the regular season at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb 25, at Saint Mary's (12-16, 6-11).
Pacific sits at sixth in the WCC standings, one game above Saint Mary's. The top six teams receive a bye in the WCC Tournament, not playing until Friday.
Junior
Liz Smith averages a team-best 13.7 points per game. Sophomore
Anaya James is at 10.7 points per game, and senior
Sam Ashby is at 10.4 points per game. Sophomore
Elizabeth Elliott leads the team in rebounding, averaging 6.2 per game. James has the most assists on the team, with an outstanding 103 in just 23 games. Freshman
Sydney Ward leads the team in blocks with 11.
As the Tiger's travel partner, Saint Mary's has mirrored the Pacific conference schedule this season. While both programs picked up wins against Santa Clara and Pepperdine, Saint Mary's dropped games against LMU and San Francisco. Ali Bamberger leads the Gaels in scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.1 points per game and 8.3 rebounds.
The two squads opened the WCC season against each other, with Saint Mary's taking the 69-66 overtime win.
