MORAGA, Calif. – The Pacific men's basketball team dropped an 83-52 West Coast Conference decision to #15 Saint Mary's Thursday evening at the University Credit Union Pavilion.
"They [Saint Mary's] were tougher and more physical than us tonight," Head coach
Leonard Perry said after the game. "They held us in check, and we could not execute offensively."
Jordan Ivy-Curry led the Tigers (13-17, 6-9) offensively, scoring 11 points. Coming off the bench, Ivy-Curry shot 42.8 percent (three-for-seven) from the field while going a perfect four-for-four from the free-throw line.
Judson Martindale and
Moe Odum also contributed to the scoring efforts, adding nine and seven points, respectively.
The Tigers kept the game close through the first six minutes, with two ties and five lead changes occurring during that span. Trailing 14-10 at the 13:56 mark of the first half, the Tigers quickly fell behind as the Gaels (25-5, 14-1) outscored the Tigers 34-21 and held a 17-point advantage, 48-31 at the halftime break.
The Gaels overwhelmed the Tigers in the second half, outscoring the Tigers by 14 to secure the win.
Pacific returns to action at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, as it takes on Portland in the final game of the regular season at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
