STOCKTON, Calif—Pacific women's basketball head coach
Bradley Davis announced the first three student-athletes in the 2024 signing class.
"While we didn't seek out an international class, we are fired up to add three freshmen of this caliber with this level of international experience," said Davis. "We're excited about the length, athleticism and versatility of these three student athletes."
Alva Lindvall is a 6-2 small forward from Bjarred Sweden. She attends Hagagymnasiet and plays for her club team RIG HAGA. Lindvall competed at the 2022 Swedish Youth Championships where she earned multiple Player of the Game accolades and was selected Player of the Tournament while guiding the team to a second-place finish. She was also named Player of the Game twice at the 2023 Scania Cup and MVP of the WBSC. In 2021, she was invited to participate in the Swedish National Team training camp.
"Alva is an aggressive perimeter player who can play in the key as well," said Davis. "We loved her ability to stretch the floor and attack the basket. Alva brings a tremendous energy to the floor and has an absolute motor. Alva's upside is huge."
Kailey Neave is a 6-2 guard from Melbourne, Australia. She is team vice-captain for Caulfield Grammar School. Neave also plays for her club team Dandenong Rangers. Kailey averaged 13 points, 8 rebounds, 2.5 assists over the past two seasons. She earned the school's Most Valuable Player, APS basketball premiership and Colours award in 2022 and Double Colours award in 2023. In both those years, Neave was selected to the school's APS representative team. Neave has been a State Development Player from time she was eligible for U16's. in 2022 she was an "emergency" player for the U18 Vic Country team, and in 2023 sh
e's been named to the U20 Victorian Navy team. Neave is also a highly decorated student receiving Commendation Awards in advanced science and geography, along with Academic Awards in Math and forensic science.
"Kailey is the consummate student athlete," said Davis. "She's a dedicated and gifted student, while being a talented and aggressive athlete. At legitimately 6'2 she's a skilled guard. Kailey has the chance to be an immediate impact player."
Tyla Fautua is a 6-0 power forward from Brisbane, Australia. She has averaged 11.1 points per game throughout her career with 15.6 at the club level and 9.3 at state. Fautua was a FIBA U17 Representative for the Samoan National Team at the 2019 Oceania Tournament. She also represented the state of Queensland on their U20 team at the Australian Nationals Tournament in February 2023. There, her Queensland team took home Bronze, a feat they also achieved in 2022. Fautua played in the Queensland State League from 2021-2023, and in the NBL1 for the Southern Districts Spartans as part of its development player selection.
"Tyla's speed and athleticism, combined with her work ethic are what impressed us initially," said Davis. "She is skilled inside and out, and will really bring an additional level of physical play and toughness to our team. She's the type of player our extended Pacific family will love. To top it off, Tyla's the kindest person off the floor and the toughest player on the floor."
Lindvall, Neave and Fautua will join the Tigers in the 2024-25 season.
