Pacific Set to Compete at WCC Championships

STOCKTON, Calif—Pacific women's cross country begins the postseason at the West Coast Conference Championships, hosted by Pepperdine, on Saturday. The meet will be live streamed on ESPN+.

Last race, the Tigers claimed seventh at the Bronco Invitational. Three freshmen finished in the top three for Pacific. Cathrine Groenbech led the way with a season-best time of 23:21.4 and earned 26th place. Teammates Emma Kaufman (23:37.4) and Valeria Espinoza (23:57.7) came right behind in 35th and 44th. Freshman Keeli Reinken and sophomore Briteny Goriye also set season bests with times of 24:10.6 and 27.07.1.

The Tigers look to place higher in the conference championship this season. In 2022, Pacific finished 10th overall as a team. Senior Sophie Pazzo was a top finisher for the Tigers, placing 54th at 22:41.7.

If Pacific or any of the Tigers are eligible, they will run at the NCAA West Regional at Sacramento State at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10.
