PALO ALTO, Calif. – The Pacific men's swim team (2-4) returned to action for the first time in 2023, falling to #12 Stanford, 179-67 on Friday.
"We just got back from our training trip in Hawaii," said Head Coach Katelyne Herrington. "It's a tough turnaround for us, especially since we faced one of swimming's best."
Sophomore Mitchell Hopper was Pacific's top finisher, recording a second-place finish in the 200 individual medley.
Freshman Bridger Sink finished third behind Hopper in the 200 individual medley and was also third in the 100 breast. Junior Aidan Scott placed third in the 200 fly.
"Everyone swam about two events, preparing us for the meet against Cal Poly. Tomorrow is a big day for us to get back into racing physically and mentally," said Herrington.
The men's team has a quick turnaround as it hosts Cal Poly at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 as part of a double dual-meet at the Eberhardt Aquatics Center.
