Tigers Tame Cougars

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Tigers started their final weekend of the regular season with a bang, defeating BYU 4-0.

The Tigers started strong in doubles, with Peter Alam and Manroop Saini quickly winning 6-3 and was, followed up by Aleska Mardjonovic and Liam Puttergill also won 6-3 to take the doubles point and going up 1-0 overall.

It was more of the same in singles, as Amar continued his fantastic season, winning (6-3, 6-0) to put the Tigers up 2-0. Alam got the Tigers one point closer, finishing his match (6-2, 6-2) to put Pacific within one of the win.

It was a race to see who would finish the match. First, Brandon Park won that race, securing the Tiger's win with a (6-1, 6-4) win to secure the Tiger's sixth win of the season. The Tigers will finish above .500 at home this season with the win.

"Really wanted to beat this team," says Park. "I believed in the boys, and I knew we would come out strong today."

Tomorrow will wrap up the regular season, and the Tigers will host the WCC leading San Diego. Senior Liam Puttergill will be honored before the match.
