STOCKTON, Calif. -- The Pacific men's basketball team returns home as the Tigers welcome in Loyola Marymount for the first time this season on Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
The Tigers got off to a slow start last weekend against San Diego, falling behind 9-5 in the early goings before roaring back as Alphonso Anderson scored on back-to-back possessions, tying the game at nine at the 15:14 mark of the first half. The Toreros quickly responded with 11 straight points and opened a 20-9 lead at the 10:41 mark. The Tigers closed the gap and outscored the Toreros 18-12 to end the half and cut the deficit to five, 32-27, at the halftime break.
Throughout the game, Jeremiah Bailey paced the Tigers, scoring a team-high 11 first-half points while also connecting on all six free-throw attempts. Bailey, who finished the game with 14 points, tallied a season-high 12 rebounds and recorded his second double-double of the season.
Loyola Marymount enters tonight's contest on an eight-game losing streak after falling to Santa Clara, 84-80, on February 17. Eli Scott leads the way for the Lions this season, leading the team in scoring, rebounding, and minutes played. Scott, who scored a season-high 30 points in the loss to the Broncos, averages 16.7 points per game and tallies 6.7 rebounds. The senior from Chino Hills, Calif., also leads the team in offensive rebounds by a hefty margin, recording 58 of the team's 198 total offensive rebounds this season.
The Lions hold a slight edge in the all-time series, tallying 33 wins in the 64 times these two teams have faced off. The Tigers, who have collected 31 wins against the Lions, have successfully won 14 games over the Lions in Stockton.

- Bailey tallied 14 points and 12 rebounds in the loss to San Diego on February 12. Bailey recorded his fourth career double-double and the second one this season. He tallied two double-doubles in 18 games during the 2020-21 season.
- Anderson continues to lead the team in multiple statistical categories, including points (11.5), offensive rebounds (41), and defensive rebounds (125).
- Sam Freeman has tallied five blocks in the last two games and averages 0.7 blocks per game during the season, ranking 10th best in the conference. He leads the team with 17 blocks, while Bailey and Anderson also have double-digit blocks on the season.Â
- Anderson was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team Thursday afternoon. - Pierre Crockrell II continues to lead the team in assists with 103. Crockrell II has 55 more assists than the closest Tiger and ranks fifth in the West Coast Conference, averaging 4.1 assists per game.Â
- Bailey tallied seven steals during the Tigers' recent four-game road trip. He leads the team with 36 steals and ranks fifth in the conference, averaging 1.5 steals per game.
- Pacific was selected eighth in the West Coast Conference preseason poll of the league's 10 head coaches. At the top of the preseason poll is Gonzaga, who secured nine of the 10 first-place votes. BYU, who received the other vote, was second, followed by Saint Mary's. Gonzaga, BYU, Santa Clara, and San Francisco each landed two players on the preseason All-WCC Team.
