STANFORD, Calif. – The Pacific men's soccer team (3-11-2, 2-3-1) fell to a strong Stanford team (10-2-5, 3-2-4) 7-0.
Senior
Derick Roque fired two shots and put one on goal. Seniors
Emmanuel Benson-Oladeinbo,
Samuel Villalta, and
Emory Rapaport all had shots, along with junior
Cory Johnson. Senior
Eric Cotton started the game in goal and had one save. Redshirt freshman
Brian Lanier played the second half and grabbed four saves.
The Tigers kept it close in the first half, holding a powerful Cardinal attack to just three shots on goal. Stanford scored in the 34th and 37th minutes to take a 2-0 lead into the half.
The second half was all Stanford, scoring five goals on nine shots on goal. The Tigers fired four shots in the second half, which was twice as many as they had in the first half but could not put a shot on goal.
The Tigers wrap up the regular season at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, against Portland. The Pacific seniors will be honored before the start of the game.
