Packard Scores in Win Over Loyola Marymount

STOCKTON, Calif. – Fifth-year senior Jenae Packard buried a penalty kick late in the second half as the Pacific women's soccer team (6-3-10, 1-3-4) shutout Loyola Marymount (3-7-6, 1-7) by a final of 1-0.

Packard added to her career year, burying her fourth goal of the season to retake sole possession of the team lead. Fifth-year seniors Haleigh Wynne and Abigail Wolf led the team in shots on goal with two apiece. On a quiet night in goal, senior Brenna Crump came up big when needed, saving both shots on her way to her fourth clean sheet of the season.

Rainfall earlier in the day led to a wet field that slowed the game's play. The Tigers put two shots on goal in the first half but could not find a goal. The Pacific defense held the Loyola Marymount in check for the first half, limiting the Lions to just one shot on goal.

The Tigers continued to pressure the Lions in the second half, putting five shots on goal in the half and receiving six corner kicks while firing nine total shots. Sophomore Aniela Jensen took the ball into the box and was challenged by the Lion's goalkeeper, leading to a Tigers penalty kick. Packard stepped up against the keeper and put it in the back of the net to give the Tigers a lead. The two teams continued to battle, but the single goal was enough for the Tigers to win.

The Tigers are back at home at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, against San Diego. Before the match, the players in their final year with the program will be honored.
