Palo Alto, Calif. – The Pacific men's swim team traveled to the Avery Aquatic Center to face nationally-ranked Stanford and Harvard in a double dual on Friday afternoon.
"Dylan Parente had a great meet for us with his solid performance in the 200-yard freestyle and as the anchor to our 200-yard medley relay. With another week of training, we will be in a better spot for racing where we can be more competitive with UCSB," said Pacific head coach Katelyne Herrington.
By team scores, Stanford defeated Pacific, 166-33 and Harvard was victorious by a 186-30 margin.
The Tigers' started the meet with a Leland Baltazar,
Alex Kurotori,
David Noyes and
Dylan Parente posted time of 1:35.30.
In the 200-yard freestyle,
Dylan Parente and
Alex Kurotori posted times of 1:42.38 (9th) and 1:43.05 (10th), respectively. Plus,
Jonathan Tan was the first Tiger to the wall in 1:57.96 en route to a sixth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly.
Plus, Kurotori was seventh in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:47.55 and
Aidan Scott was seventh in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:57.04.
The Tigers got a pair of eighth-place finishes from Parente in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.83 and
Aidan Vulgas in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:14.23).
David Noyes took seventh in the 100-yard butterfly (51.86) and 12th in the 100-yard freestyle (47.50).
Parente led the Tigers with a 21.13 split in the meet-ending 200-yard freestyle relay as the Tigers finished with a time of 1:25.90. Also on the team was Leland Baltazar,
Alex Kurotori and
David Noyes.
Up next for Pacific is a dual meet against UC Santa Barbara at the Chris Kjeldsen Pool at the Douglas M. Eberhardt Aquatic Center on Saturday, January 22 at noon.
