STOCKTON, Calif. – After back-to-back close games the Tigers will head to Stanford to face the reigning national champions for their second ranked matchup this season. The Tigers are coming off an overtime loss against Nevada last Saturday while Stanford has not played since November 27 when they defeated #2 Maryland 86-68. Stanford is 5-2 on the season and ranked #4 in the nation in RPI rankings.

THE YOUTH MOVEMENT:
The freshmen continue to lead the way for the Tigers. They have started to score in bunches, with two games in a row with four players scoring in double-digits against Oregon State and Nevada.
Anaya James led the team with 31 points against Oregon State and
Elizabeth Elliott scored 19 against Nevada.
Anaya James was named the WCC Freshman of the Week for the second time this season. Her 31 points against Oregon State was tied for second most by a freshman in Pacific history.
Elizabeth Elliott scored a career high 19 points against Nevada and has scored double-digits in every game she has played in this season. All five of the Tigers top scorers this season are underclassmen.
RETURNING TIGERS:
Sam Ashby had her first double-digit game of the season against Nevada, scoring 17 points while only missing three shots in the game.
Madelene Ennis leads the team in rebounding this season, averaging 5.6 rebounds per game. Ennis is fourth on the team in minutes and leads the team in shooting percentage among players who have played in multiple games.
RANKS IN THE WCC:
Anaya James is seventh in the WCC in scoring and leads all freshman in scoring.
Elizabeth Elliott leads the WCC in points per 40 minutes at 25.0 and
Jordan Cruz is second in the WCC in threes made per 40 minutes at 4.1.
Madelene Ennis is tied for ninth in the WCC in average rebounds and tied for eighth in total rebounds with 45.
HISTORY BETWEEN THE TWO:
The two teams played last season in a game that Stanford won 104-61. The win for head coach Tara VanDerveer propelled her into first all-time in DI Women's Basketball wins, past the Hall of Fame coach Pat Summit. The two teams have played 21 times, the Tigers have won three times in those games and their largest win was by nine points.
