DAVIS, Calif. -- Despite a strong showing in the second half, the Pacific men's basketball team dropped a narrow 63-57 loss at UC Davis Wednesday evening at the University Credit Union Center.

The Tigers (4-4) fell behind midway through in the first half, 23-16, and faced a 15-point deficit at the halftime break. The Tigers finished the game shooting 40.4 percent (19-for-47) from the floor, while the Aggies (3-3) shot 44.4 percent (24-for-54). UC Davis won the rebounding battle, tallying 34 while Pacific pulled down 24 rebounds.

Jeremiah Bailey led the way for the Tigers, scoring a season-high 24 points while collecting six rebounds. Bailey, who racked up 18 points in the second half, scored the most points in a game since he tallied 28 points at Loyola Marymount on February 13, 2021.
Luke Avdalovic and
Jalen Brown both scored six points, while
Pierre Crockrell II and
Alphonso Anderson added five points apiece.

Pacific began the second half on a 12-2 run to close the deficit to just five, 38-33 after two made free throws by Bailey.

The lead fluctuated late in the game as Pacific outscored UC Davis, 36-27 in the second half. The Tigers were unable to regain the lead but kept the game close, tying the game twice in the final six minutes. The Aggies, however, were able to pull away late in the final two minutes as Elijah Pepper tallied two three-point baskets to hinder the Tigers' rally.

Pacific returns to action on Saturday, December 4, as it continues its road trip as the Tigers travel to take on Cal State Fullerton with tip-off scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
