STOCKTON, Calif. - The Tigers, who are in the midst of a four-game homestand, welcome the Miners of UTEP on Friday, Nov. 19. The Miners and the Tigers have faced each other on five previous meetings including a matchup in the 1967 NCAA Tournament, one year after UTEP won the national title. Pacific came away with a 72-63 win to advance to the regional final and the Miners were sent to the third place game in the regional. This is the sixth all-time meeting between the two teams.

TIGER TIDBITS
• Tonight continues a four-game homestand as the Tigers welcome UTEP to the Spanos Center. After its four-game homestand, the Tigers will be on the road to start December for its next three before coming back home for three games.
• A brief history on the series history between the two teams is the last meeting was the season opener for both teams in 2010-11 as the Tigers came away with a 66-61 win in El Paso. The first meeting was December 22, 1963 in El Paso with the Tigers edging the Miners, 64-62. Pacific leads the all-time series by a 4-1 margin.
• With its 65-46 win on Tuesday, Pacific has not lost a home opener since 2002-03.
• The double double - 18 points and 12 rebounds - for Alphonso Anderson on Tuesday was the first career double double for the Tacoma native.
• Nearly flawless - Sam Freeman - has made 15 of his last 16 shots for an astonishing 93.8% field-goal percentage. His efforts are do not meet NCAA minimum requirements (5 made per game).
• In both of the Tigers' wins, they have made at least eight 3-pointers on the season. Pacific has won 16 of its last 20 games where they have made eight 3-pointers in a game.
• The last two trips to Hawaii have seen the Tigers leave with a 1-2 mark as the Tigers also posted a 1-2 mark in 2019-20 for the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic as they picked up a win over Florida A&M, losing to South Dakota and host Hawaii.
• Jeremiah Bailey was named to the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic All-Tournament Team as he averaged 14.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game in the three contests.
• Jeremiah Bailey, who wears #13, was featured on NCAA.com as they ranked the best current men's college basketball player for every jersey number.
• In the win over Hawaii Hilo, Luke Avdalovic hit five 3-pointers - the most by a Pacific player since Jeremiah Bailey knocked down six in last year's second matchup against BYU. The Northern Arizona transfer was a three-year team leader with 39 in 2020-21, 52 in 2019-20, 73 in 2018-19 for the Lumberjacks. He left NAU sixth in program history in 3-pointers made (164) and in 3-point percentage (.453).
• Leonard Perry is the 23rd head coach in Pacific men's basketball history. This is his first season as the Tigers' head coach, following the last five seasons as the Tigers' associate head coach. Perry has head coaching experience as he was the head coach for five seasons at the University of Idaho.
• With the win against Hawaii Hilo, Perry became the fifth coach in a row to pick up his first win within his first two games as the Tigers' head coach.• Pacific will appear twice on national television as the matchup at pre-season No. 1 Gonzaga on Feb. 10 in the McCarthey Athletic Center was selected as one of the 12 games in the CBS Sports Network package with the West Coast Conference. The other contest is when the Tigers host BYU on Saturday, Jan. 29 in the Alex G. Spanos Center which will be televised live on ESPNU.
• From the Windy City to Stockton - Assistant Coach Justin Brown along with newcomers Khaleb Wilson-Rouse and Greg Outlaw are originally from Chicago, Illinois.
• Pacific was selected eighth in the West Coast Conference preseason poll of the league's 10 head coaches. At the top of the preseason poll is Gonzaga, who secured nine of the 10 first place votes. BYU, who received the other vote, was second followed by Saint Mary's. Gonzaga, BYU, Santa Clara and San Francisco each landed two players on the preseason All-WCC Team.
