THINGS TO KNOW:
  • Leading the Tigers to one of their most successful seasons in recent memory, Damon Stoudamire was named WCC Coach of the Year this past Tuesday. Guiding Pacific to a 15-3 record at the Spanos Center and an 11-5 finish in conference play, Stoudamire became the first UOP coach to win the award since Dick Edwards won his third award in 1970-71.
  • Wrapping up his career in the Orange & Black, Tripp was named the WCC Defensive Player of the Year in addition to being a First Team Selection. Overall, the 6-5 guard led the WCC in rebounding in both overall (8.75) and conference (9.50) play and added a team-high 15.8 points per game, 1.5 steals and 2.0 assists for the Tigers. Tripp is the second Tiger in three seasons to earn top-defensive honors, joining former teammate Namdi Okonkwo who did so in 2017-18. He also earns All-WCC recognition for the third straight season after being named an Honorable Mention last year and an All-WCC Second Team member in 2017.
  • Impressing in his first year in Stockton, freshman Daniss Jenkins was named to the All-WCC Freshman team after playing a vital role for Pacific this season.
  • Starting in 22 of his 31 games played, the 6'3" guard stepped in and delivered immediately for Pacific, finishing with averages of 6.5 points per game, 1.3 assists per game, 1.2 rebounds per game while also shooting 82 percent from the free throw line.

  • Advancing past the opening round, San Francisco cruised past Loyola Marymount, 82-53, on Friday evening in their first game of the tournament.
  • Splitting the season series, Pacific and USF will meet for the third time this season after the road team won both contests during conference play.
