Pacific Athletics Coronavirus Update

STOCKTON, Calif. - Pacific Athletics continues to assess the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in coordination with the University and public health officials. In response to decisions announced today by the University, Pacific Athletics will implement attendance protocols for home competitions.  These measures are effective immediately and will be in place through April 15, 2020, at which time they will be re-evaluated.  Consistent with University policy, any external or non-athletic events planned for this time period are being postponed or cancelled.

All Pacific home competitions and practices are expected to occur as originally scheduled.  Attendance at these contests will be limited (for both Pacific and its opponents) to individuals including the following:

  • Participating student-athletes
  • Coaches
  • Officials
  • Other essential personnel as designated by Pacific Athletics (i.e., team personnel, medical team, game management staff)
  • Student-athletes' families
  • Media
  • Pacific recruits

Due to the nature of the attendance protocols, concessions will be closed during the impacted events.  Fans who have already purchased tickets to affected competition can contact the Pacific Ticket Office at 209-946-2474 with questions.  Please know that many of these home competitions will be shown live on www.PacificTigers.com.

Pacific athletic teams will follow the University's guidelines, which at this time allow for controlled attendance at home contests and travel to competitions at other sites as originally scheduled with limited exceptions.  We will accommodate student-athletes, coaches, and staff who do not feel comfortable traveling or participating in team activities.

These cautionary measures are being taken to ensure the health and well-being of our campus community.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this unusual time.

As the situation surrounding the coronavirus evolves, updates will be posted as they become available on www.PacificTigers.com , as well as on Twitter (@PacificTigers).  Official messages and status updates from the University are available at www.pacific.edu/coronavirus.

Please keep in mind the following and do your part to keep our community safe:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your elbow.
  • Stay home if you are sick or have chronic breathing problems (including asthma, COPD, or emphysema).
Pacific Athletics continues to incorporate enhanced cleaning measures and public hygiene practices at its athletic facilities.
