STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific men's basketball team (20-8, 8-4) reached a new height in the Damon Stoudamire era on Saturday night after taking down Portland (9-18, 1-11), 75-55, for their twentieth overall victory of the season.
Pushing their win streak at home to four in a row in addition to notching their fifth straight victory, the Tigers cruised past the Pilots as three players finished in double figures.

First Half-
- Fresh off winning the WCC Player of the Week for the second time this season, senior Jahlil Tripp kicked off the scoring for the Tigers by converting a three-point play just 1:01 into play, giving Pacific the early 3-0 advantage.
- Despite a quick run by the Pilots, UOP regained the lead on back-to-back layups from graduate transfer Shaquillo Fritz midway through the first half as the Tigers jumped back in front, 15-12, at 8:47.
- Knocking down his first shot of the night from beyond-the-arc, graduate transfer Gary Chivichyan extended the Pacific lead to double digits (26-16) with 5:07 remaining in the half.
- Keeping the pressure on the Pilots as the clock wound down, Tripp sunk two free throws with 33 seconds left as the Tigers headed into the locker room on top of Portland by ten points, 34-24.
- Pacing the attack for Pacific, Tripp flirted with a double-double in the first half by tallying 9 points and 6 rebounds.

Second Half-
- Showing no signs of slowing down, Tripp led UOP on a 7-0 run out of the break to help the Tigers widen their margin to seventeen, making the score 41-24 in favor of Pacific.
- Dialing it in from distance, Chivichyan and junior Broc Finstuen hit back-to-back three's at 12:48 and 12:04 to stay on top by thirteen, 49-36.
- Contributing when called upon, freshman Daniss Jenkins joined the scoring party with a jump shot of his own at the 7:54 mark, pushing the Tiger lead to nineteen, 62-43.
- Finding some rhythm on the offensive end, freshman Takori Rooks netted the first two baskets of his collegiate career with less than two minutes remaining as Pacific jumped out to their largest lead of the night, 75-49, following a made three by Rooks with 43 seconds left.
- Ultimately, the Tigers cruised to their 20th victory of the season by a final score of 75-55. With the win, UOP has now secured their first 20-win campaign since the 2009-10 season, which saw the team finish with a 23-12/12-4 record. Additionally, Pacific is one of only 25 teams currently in Division I to reach the 20-win mark.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Leading the way, Tripp tallied his ninth double-double of the year with 18 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 assist.
- Showing he is one of the most productive point guards in the country, freshman Pierre Crockrell II was named the City of Stockton Human Resources Hardworking Player of the Game after recording the first double-double of his collegiate career with 10 points and 10 assists.
- Furthermore, junior transfer Broc Finstuen finished with his second highest point total of the season, pouring in 13 points and grabbing 2 rebounds on 6-of-10 from the field.
- Dominating in nearly every major category, Pacific led the Pilots in points off turnovers (19-11), second chance points (8-2), bench points (45-8), points in the paint (44-22) and fast break points (8-5).

UP NEXT:Â Pacific will look to sweep their third straight season series and extend their winning streak to six straight when they make the short trip to Moraga to face Saint Mary's on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 5:00 pm. After defeating the Gaels in the historic four-overtime victory on Jan. 4, the Tigers are aiming for their first win at SMC in over 30 years, with their last win being a 47-45 nail-bitter on Dec. 9, 1989.
