Men's Swimming Heads to Stanford for Dual Meet

STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific Men's Swimming will hit the water again for the first time in 2020, competing against Stanford in a dual meet on Saturday, January 11 at the Avery Aquatic Center on the campus of Stanford University.

ABOUT THE MEET 
  • Stanford and Pacific will face off head to head at the Avery Aquatic Center in the South Bay. The first event is set for 2:00 p.m.
  • Pacific and Stanford last competed in a dual meet in the 2017-18 season in Palo Alto. All-MPSF swimmer Angel Alcala was the Tigers' top swimmer that day with a score of 641, while Pacific as a team set seven personal bests.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
  • The Cardinal and Tigers are meeting for the second time this season and first time head-to-head.
  • The two met at the Pacific Invite in October at the Chris Kjeldsen Pool at the Pacific Aquatics Center in Pacific's season-opening meet.
  • This is the fourth dual meet for the men this season and second dual meet between the two school in three seasons.
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Tigers finished third on the men's side at the UNLV Invite in December with a score of 556.
  • Mackaby Pennington was the points leader for the Tigers in Las Vegas, racking up 37 points for a top-30 finish. Pennington earned MPSF Male Athlete of the Week with a win in the three-meter dive (305.95) and a second-place showing in the one-meter (280.75).
  • Pacific set multiple season- and personal-bests on day two, including two in the 100 Breast: Erik Clemensen (56.75 - PB) and Brandon Reno (55.63 - SB).
  • Freshman Ricky Lewis put on a career performance in southern Nevada, clocking in a personal best of 4:31.99 in the 500 Free on day one and a sixth-place time of 16:10.18 in the 1,650 Free on day three.
