IRVINE, Calif. – The Pacific men's soccer team dropped its Sunday night match at UC Irvine by a score of 3-0.
The Tigers fall to 3-5-1, while the Anteaters improve their record to 3-4-3.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
- Pacific was out-shot by UCI, 15-7 with just one of the Tigers shots finishing on target.
- In the first half the Tigers were only able to get two shots off, by Brady Graff in the fourth minute and Tariq Branche in the fifth minute.
- Between 7:28-14:50 the Anteaters totaled three shots and three corner kicks en route to their first goal.
- Pacific would face two more shots on goal by UCI, but keeper Mateo Gomez came up with saves at 21:32 and 44:36 to hold the Anteaters lead at 1-0.
- In the second half, Gomez had back-to-back saves in the 60th and 61st minutes to keep the Tigers within striking distance.
- The Anteaters found the back of the net twice more, following a free kick at 67:56 and on a penalty kick at 80:02.
- Pacific would have its last attempts at a goal on consecutive shots by Jose Angel Reyes and Emory Rapaport. Reyes took his shot at 86:16, which resulted in a Tigers corner kick. Then off the kick Rapaport took a shot to the high center of the net, but UCI's Ford Parker came up with the save.
- Also taking shots on the night were Anthony Orendain and Derick Roque.
