INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Pacific women's volleyball team defeats Belmont, 3-1, Saturday afternoon en route to a 2-1 finish at the Butler-hosted Bulldog Brawl.
Pacific improves to 8-4, while Belmont falls to 1-14 on the season.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
- The Tigers won by set scores of 25-15, 25-20, 24-26, and 25-10.
- For the second-consultive match Allison Dennemann recorded a double-double, totaling 14 kills and 13 digs against the Bruins.
- Riley Patterson also had a strong offensive outing with 13 kills on the day.
- Middle-blockers Sedona Sherman and Kennedy Kaminsky were errorless on the day with Sherman hitting .438 (7-0-16) and Kaminsky hitting .421 (8-0-19).
- Hanne De Schrijver also had a double-double with 19 assists and a team-leading 15 digs. Jadyn Tubbs also collected 15 digs.
- As a team, Pacific surpassed Butler in nearly every statistical category — points (72-45), kills (57-37), service aces (9-1), assists (50-34), and digs (70-58)
Set 1
- The Tigers and Bruins matched point for point on the first six serves, but then Pacific took the next three points to take a 6-3 lead.
- Belmont was allowed consecutive points just twice throughout the set.
- After a Pacific service error, Belmont battled back within three points (14-11).
- Pacific then went on a 5-1 run to nearly pull out of reach of the Bruins.
- The Burins would score the next two points, but Pacific would then go on a 6-1 run to put the set away.
Set 2
- Opposite of the first set, the Bruins came out strong in the second set, jumping out to a 7-3 lead.
- With a 7-0 run the Tigers were able to take its largest lead to that point.
- Although Pacific held its lead for the remainder of the set, but Tigers did not lead by more than three points until the start of a 4-0 run gave them a 21-16 edge.
- Pacific and Belmont matched point for point to wrap up the set.
Set 3
- The two squads were more evenly matched in the second set. The score was tied at points 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, and 24.
- Following a tie at 15-15, Pacific went on a 5-1 scoring run to take a four-point (20-16) lead.
- Belmont answered right back with three unanswered points to stay within one point of the Tigers (21-19).
- The Bruins regained the lead on a kill at 24-23, but Dennemann evened the score for the final on a kill at 24-24.
- A Pacific hitting error and kill by Bruins Halee Van Poppel gave the Bruins consecutive points for the set victory.
Set 4
- It was all Pacific in the final set, opening at 3-0 and scoring three-straight points on two more occasions to take a significant 14-7 lead.
- Following a kill by Belmont's Mackenzie Harless at 14-8, the Tigers scored points on the next six serves to extend their lead to 20-8.
- The Bruins were allowed just two more points in the set.
ALL-TOURNAMENT
Outside hitter Dennemann and setter Gabby Leo were both tabbed to the Bulldog Brawl All-Tournament team.

- The Tigers are off to their best start (.667 pct.) since the 2015 season. That year, Pacific opened with a 9-2 non-conference record.
