Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Wolf Leads Tigers to Third Straight Win

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Abigail Wolf notched her first goal of the year on a crafty loft from 25 yards out and Pacific outshot Long Island 23-3 on the day to win its third game in a row for the first time since 2011, a 1-0 decision Sunday morning at LIU Soccer Park in Brookville, New York.

In Case You Missed It
  • The Tigers started off how they did in a 1-0 win over Manhattan on Friday, pelting shot after shot at LIU in the first 45 minutes. In all, Pacific threw 15 shots (six on frame) at the Sharks in the first 45 minutes, equaling their total from Friday's 1-0 win over the Jaspers.
  • A team high five of those came off the foot of Isabella Pariente. Katelyn Chandler contributed another four, with three of those being on net.
  • Lone Wolf: Wolf scored the game's only goal, her first of the season from 25 yards out to the top right corner to put the Tigers ahead in the 55thminute

Statistically Speaking
  • Pacific finished with 23 shots after a full 90 minutes against the Sharks for a season high, including 10 on frame – also a season high. They also allowed just three shots for the second straight outing.
  • The Tigers didn't allow Long Island a shot until the 49thminute, a head that was cleared away by the UOP back line.
  • UOP is now on a three game win streak for the first time since the 2011 season. The Tigers went on a four game run that year, downing Sacramento State, UNLV, CSU Bakersfield and Arizona – all four outings were shutout wins.

New York, New York
  • Pacific racked up a combined 38 shots during the course of its two game road trip in the Big Apple with 19 of those being on frame.
  • The Tigers also got in done in the defensive third, allowing just six shots total for back-to-back season lows for a UOP opponent.
  • UOP is now 3-0 in the state of New York dating back to 2009 when the Tigers blanked Fordham 2-0 on September 13 – nine years and two days ago to the day.
  • Pacific did not concede a shot to either New York opponent until at least 20 minutes into the match (Manhattan in the 21stminute, LIU in the 49thminute).

Next Up
  • Pacific will look to make it four in a row next weekend when the Tigers play host to Portland State in a 1:00 p.m. matinee at Knoles Field on Sunday, September 22. Pacific is 4-2 all time against the Vikings with the two teams trading home wins in each of the last two season.
