Tigers Sweep on Day One of UNLV Invitational

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Pacific women's volleyball team opened the UNLV Invitational with victories over Texas Tech (25-23, 25-22, 25-23, 27-25) and Idaho (25-23, 25-23, 25-16, 25-23, 15-10) on Friday. 
 

THE BREAKDOWN

Pacific 3, Texas Tech 1

  • The Tigers and the Red Raiders battled it out until the final serve, with neither squad winning a set by more than three points. 
  • Serving was crucial in the Tigers win, collecting 10 service aces.
  • Pacific also held the edge in points (84-65), kills (66-52), and assists (62-49).
  • Allison Dennemann and Kennedy Kaminsky both hit a new career mark in kills, each with 16 against Tech. Kaminsky hit a team-best .324 (16-5-34)
  • Gabby Leo had a team-high 33 assists, while libero Jadyn Tubbs led with 22 digs in the match.
     

Pacific 3, Idaho 2

  • Tigers found themselves down two sets to none before battling back to win the final three sets. 
  • Pacific led in nearly every statistical category, including points (89-70.5), kills (74-46), assists (67-45), and digs (76-68). 
  • Both squads has seven service aces.
  • Four players — Riley Patterson, Kaminsky, Sedona Sherman, Dennemann — recorded double-digit kills against the Vandals. Sherman hit a season-best .440 to lead the Tigers offensive efforts.
  • Hanne De Schrijver dished out a season-high 35 assists, while Leo contributed 30 assists in the nightcap.
  • Patterson had a double-double (15k, 16d) in the final game of the day, while Tubbs totaled 30 digs.
