STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's volleyball team dropped its final game of the Aggie Invitational, falling to tournament-host UC Davis in straight-sets (25-23, 28-26, 25-19) Saturday night at The Pavilion in Davis, Calif.
UC Davis 3, Pacific 0
Set 1
- Allison Dennemann (4-0-4) and Carissa Bradford (4-0-9) were both errorless in the first set.
- Both teams were stellar offensively, the Tigers hitting .364 and the Aggies hitting .433.
- The start of the set was very competitive between the two squads with a tie score at points 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 9.
- Following a 9-9 tie, three consecutive kills by Pacific gave the Tigers an 12-9 edge, but it was short lived as the Aggies answered with three points of their own.
- The Tigers would take another three-point lead, but UCD tied the game up once again at 18-18.
- The two squads would battle for control over the next eight serves. Following a service error by Pacific and a kill by UC Davis' Mahalia White, the Tigers found themselves down 23-21.
- After a Pacific timeout, the Tigers scored two of the next three points to come back within one point (24-23).
- A Pacific service error gave the Aggies the set victory at 25-23.
Set 2
- Dennemann had another four-kill set, hitting .667 without an error.
- It was a seesaw battle between the two teams with the score tied 13 times throughout the set.
- A kill by Dennemann at 23-23 put the Tigers at set point, but a Pacific service error tied the game up at 25-25 and forced the win to be determined by extra points.
- A kill by the Aggies' Lauren Maias gave her team the edge at 26-25, but Pacific's Bradford answered back with a kill to even the score back up at 26-26.
- A UCD kill and Pacific attack error resulted in a set two win for the Aggies.
Set 3
- The Tigers were held to just 10 kills in the deciding set.
- UC Davis took an early 9-4 lead, but with Jadyn Tubbs back serving the Tigers were able to even the score at 9-9.
- The Aggies answered with a 7-1 run that put them up 16-10 on the Tigers, forcing Pacific to take its first timeout of the set.
- Pacific won the next three points, but were unable to come any closer for the remainder of the game and eventually fell by a score of 25-19.
Top Performances
- Allison Dennemann and Riley Patterson were both named to the Aggie Invitational All-Tournament team. Dennemann was flawless on the night, hitting .588 (10-0-17), while Patterson averaged 4.15 points and 3.1 kills per set.
- Freshman Carissa Bradford had an outstanding performance, leading the Tigers with 12 kills en route to a .310 hitting percentage. Bradford also totaled eight digs and two blocks on the night.

The Tigers month of road trips will continue next weekend when they travel to Las Cruces, N.M. for the New Mexico State University Borderland Tournament. Pacific will face New Mexico State on Sept. 6 and will conclude tournament play with matches against New Mexico and UTEP on Sept. 7.
