STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's soccer team dropped its 2019 season opener, 2-0 at Virginia on Friday night.

In Case You Missed It

• The Tigers and Cavaliers were at a stalemate for nearly the entire first half.
• At 42:11, Pacific's Kai Lange put the ball on target, but a save by Virginia's Shutler Colin held the Tigers scoreless. 
• Just over a minute later (43:22) Virginia scored its first goal of the match, off of the foot of Irakoze Donasiyano.
• It looked as though the Tigers were going to be down two scores early after Virginia was awarded a penalty kick just 34 seconds into the second half. Cavaliers' Robin Afamefuna took the shot, but Tiger keeper Ethan Bandre came up with the save.
• At 47:52 Virginia's Donasiyano scored his second goal of the game.

Statistically Speaking

• Pacific finished with 12 shots on the night, four of which were on-goal.
• Bandre had a game-high six saves in goal.
• Jonathan Jimenez finished with a team-best three shots, while Ryan Her, Johnatan Rico-Contreres, Mamoru Kamisasanuki, and Lange each had a shot-on-goal.
