Tigers Fall in Three at LMU

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's volleyball team fell to Loyola Marymount in straight sets (3-0) on Thursday night.

The Tigers fall to 13-14 with a 5-10 record in WCC play. The Lions improve to to 14-12, 8-6 against its conference foes.

 

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

  • Pacific dropped its first set by a score of 25-21. Riley Patterson led the Tigers with five kills.
  • After opening the first set with a 6-4 lead, Pacific was outscored 13-6, which allowed LMU to extend to a four point (17-12) lead. The two squads matched point-for-point the remainder of the set.
  • LMU jumped out to a significant lead in the second set, going 8-2 in the first 10 serves. Pacific would not come within less than five points the remainder of the set, falling by a convincing 25-16.
  • The Third set was tight between the Tigers and Lions with a tie score on 17 occasions. Pacific held the largest lead fo the set at 10-7. Following that mark, neither team was able to possess an edge larger than two points. Following a final tie at 26-26, LMU was able to secure set point on an assisted block and the match win (28-26) on a kill by Piper Manross.

     

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • Patterson was the only Pacific player to finish with double-digit kills, totaling 15 en route to a team-leading .222 hitting percentage. The sophomore from Sonora also totaled six digs.
  • Libero Jadyn Tubbs and setter Gabby Leo each collected a team-high 11 digs. 
  • Leo finished with her 12th double-double after also totaling 22 assists on the night.
  • Tubbs continues to be the Tigers top server, adding three service aces to her season total (33).
