Tigers Can’t Overcome Pilot Offense in 3-0 Defeat

STOCKTON, Calif. – The opening 45 minutes between Pacific and Portland were almost neck and neck, but the Pilots (6-5-4, 2-3-2 WCC) used two second half goals to push past UOP (3-14-0, 0-7-0 WCC) 3-0 Friday night at Knoles Field.

In Case You Missed It
  • Emily Counter made her first collegiate start Saturday night, logging 63 minutes in the Tigers' penultimate home match of 2019.
  • Sigrid Aas had the majority of Pacific's chances throughout the night, creating a chance in each half that just missed the back of the net.

Statistically Speaking
  • Aas accounted for three of the Tigers' four shots on the night, including her first one less than seven minutes into the match that barely missed the top right corner.
  • Saturday night tied the lowest combined save total for Pacific and its opponent in 2019 as the Tigers corralled two with Portland claiming one. For the last time both teams combined for three saves, have to go back to August 25 of this year against Nevada when the Wolf Pack saved three and Pacific saved none.
  • Pacific had the eye of the tiger when it came to the offsides flag, forcing Portland offsides seven times while committing no such offenses.

Next Up
  • Pacific heads for a warmer climate next, travelling to San Diego for a 7:00 p.m. tangle with the Toreros on Wednesday, November 6. The Tigers will return home for the final time in 2019 on November 9 against Gonzaga. Both matches will be streamed live on The WCC Network.
