STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific volleyball team fell to the University of San Diego, 3-0 on Thursday night at Jenny Craig Pavilion in San Diego.
The Tigers (12-11, 4-7) dropped the match by set scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-16.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
- Pacific was held to a .146 hitting percentage, while San Diego hit .391 as a team.
- The Tigers held close in the first set, tying the game at 16-16. Following the tie, the Toreros went on a 6-2 run to close out the set, which included a 5-0 run in the final five serves.
- In the second set, Pacific battled hard through the first 15 serves, but the Tigers were unable to come within less than four points of USD following its lead at 10-6.
- It was all San Diego in the winning set. A kill by Allison Dennemann put the Tigers within three points late in the set (18-15). San Diego went on to extend its lead to 20-15 and outscored the Tigers 5-1 to secure its 10th conference victory.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- The Tigers leading hitter was Riley Patterson, collecting seven kills on the night. Patterson also led Pacific's squad with nine digs.
- Lucy Carpenter and Carissa Bradford went errorless, with a combined .400 (6-0-15) hitting percentage.
- Kennedy Kaminsky had a strong night, hitting .333 (5-1-12) with team-high totals of two service aces and four blocks (three assisted, one solo).
