LAST TIME OUT:
  • Pacific recorded a 1-1 record on the road this past weekend, falling to No. 2 UCLA, 14-10, on Friday, Oct. 18 before defeating No. 5 UCSB, 17-16 on Sunday, Oct. 20.
  • Senior Luis Araya was the late-game hero yet again as the Stockton native netted his third goal of the match with just twelve seconds left to secure the victory for the Tigers.
  • UOP topped UCSB for the second time this season, with their previous win coming on Sept. 29 at the MPSF Invitational, when the Gauchos were ranked No. 1 in the nation. The Tigers now hold a three-game win streak over their GCC rivals.

TALE OF THE TAPE:
  • This is the 65th all-time meeting between the Tigers and the Waves. Pepperdine currently holds a 28-37 advantage in the record books, but Pacific previously defeated the Waves, 13-12, on Oct. 27, 2018 in Malibu.
  • This match will be the first GCC contest at Chris Kjeldsen Pool for Pacific this season. The Tigers have three more conference matches scheduled for the regular season, with their final home game set for Nov. 9 against UC Irvine.

ON THE PROWL:
  • Coming off a First Team All-American selection in 2018, Luke Pavillard continues to lead the Tigers offensively as he is currently first on the team in goals (41), assists (26), and total points (67). The redshirt senior from Perth, Australia is also a matchup problem on the defensive end, racking up 22 steals in 15 matches so far.
  • Jeremie Cote, who is in his first season with Pacific, also continues to impress around the league. The freshman from Montreal currently sits at second on the team with 38 goals and is third in assists with 20.
  • After redshirting his first year with the Tigers, goalie Jonathan Barry remains a force to be reckoned with inside the cage. The sophomore from Fullerton, Calif. has started in 14 of UOP's 15 matches, tallying 122 total saves en route to a .457 save percentage.

POWERHOUSES IN THE POOL:
  • Pacific and Pepperdine have combined for 17 All-American selections since 2016. Pavillard was a back-to-back First Team selection in 2017 and 2018 while Engin Ege Colak has been selected the past three years (Honorable Mention in 2016, Third Team in 2017 + 2018). Colak is the tenth Tiger in program history to be selected as an All-American at least three times.
  • Both programs have enjoyed significant success over the last few years, with Pepperdine having won at least 15 matches in the last three seasons. Despite only winning 12 games last year, the Tigers were a national semi-finalist in the 2017 NCAA Men's Division I postseason tournament.
