IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Both teams would come out of the gate playing solid defense, as the first shot of the match was not recorded until the 19th minute on a header by Santa Clara's Emil Christensen.
- The Tigers did not find much momentum on the offensive side of the ball in the first half, being outshot by the Broncos, 7-0.
- Pacific trailed their WCC rivals, 1-0, at the halftime break.
- Aiming to get the offense rolling in the beginning of the second half, sophomore Ryan Her tallied the first shot of the game for UOP at the 51:24 mark.
- Despite another shot from the Broncos in the following minutes, Rico-Contreres found the equalizer on an assist from sophomore Mamoru Kamisasanuki at 72:00 in the second half to tie the match at one. This was the first goal of the season for the redshirt senior from Half Moon Bay as well as Kamisasanuki's first collegiate assist.
- Keeping pressure on Santa Clara, senior Tariq Branche fired his first of two shots at the 73:32 mark. Unfortunately, the Broncos would score less than a minute later on a goal from Alan Comacho Soto, making the score 2-1 in favor of Santa Clara.
- Looking to mount a comeback, Branche and junior Max Bilsborough continued to shoot at the opposing net, forcing the Broncos to defend their home pitch down the stretch.
- Her, Andreas Charalambous and Anthony Orendain also joined the effort in attempting to even the match with shots of their own as Pacific outshot Santa Clara 8-3 overall in the second half.
- Despite several attacks on the Bronco goal as the clock ticked down, the Tigers could not find the back of the net before time expired, falling to Santa Clara, 2-1.
