STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's swimming team is currently in second following the first eight events of the 2019 Pacific Invitational, which is being hosted at Chris Kjeldsen Pool.Â
Stanford, which is only participating in Friday competition, leads standings with 656 points. The Tigers have compiled 349 points, while Fresno Pacific (245) and UC Santa Cruz (225) round out the four-team field.
The Tigers top finish on the night was a third place finish in the 400 free relay. The foursome — Dylan Parente, David Noyes, Andrew Davis, and Erik Clemensen — combined for a time of 3:15.27.
Individually, Jonathan Tan and Michael Kang each recorded fourth place finishes in the 400 individual medley and the 200 butterfly, respectively. Tan finished the 400 IM with a time of 4:12.55, while Kang clocked a time of 1:54.03 in the fly.
Pacific will return to the pool tomorrow morning to compete in the meet's final nine events. Saturday competition will open with women's 400 medley relay with the men's version of the event to immediately follow.
