Gallinat Garners WCC Player Of The Week Honors

STOCKTON, Calif. – After turning in one of the most explosive scoring performances in Pacific basketball history, Roberto Gallinat was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

Gallinat scored a career-high 41 points on Thursday versus San Francisco, falling three shy of matching the program record for points in a game set by Bill Stricker on Dec. 21, 1968. It also marked the first game in which a Pacific player scored over 40 points since Rich Anema accomplished the feat in 1986. Gallinat followed up Thursday's performance with a 23-point effort at Loyola Marymount on Saturday as he went 9-for-19 from the floor, including 2-for-6 from three-point range. During the two-game stretch, Gallinat shot 55.3 percent from the floor, including 5-for-14 from beyond the arc. He has averaged 27.3 points over his last four games and 22.6 points over his last seven.

Gallinat is the second Pacific men's basketball player to earn WCC Player of the Week honors this season as Jahlil Tripp received the award for the week of Jan. 8. Tripp became the first Tiger to be named Player of the Week since Dulani Robinson earned the award for the week of Dec. 22, 2014.
