Finnie Scores 1,000th Career Point As Tigers Rally Over Toreros, 62-60

STOCKTON, California - GeAnna Luaulu-Summers made the game-winning layup after a back-and-forth fourth quarter to top the San Diego Toreros, 62-60 Thursday night at the Alex G. Spanos Center. Luaulu-Summers led all scorers with 26 points, while Desire Finnie collected her 1,000th career point becoming the 23rd player in program history to accomplish the feat.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 13-13 overall and 7-8 in West Coast Conference play, while the Toreros drop to 14-12 overall and 7-8 in the WCC.

  • The Tigers started off on a 7-0 run and draining three straight shots in a span of 75 seconds to get an early lead on the Toreros.
  • Luaulu-Summers recorded 14 points by the end of the second period and Anaya Brooklyn McDavid grabbed five boards.
  • In the first half, the Tigers forced 12 Torero turnovers and turned them into 16 points.
  • After the first 20 minutes, Pacific accumulated six steals and was perfect from the free-throw line going 5-of-5.

  • With seconds left on the clock and the score knotted at 60, Luaulu-Summers drove to the net, tossed the ball up, and found the bottom of the net to put the Tigers up 62-60 with one second left to play.
  • McDavid finished with a near double-double with nine points and seven rebounds. McDavid dominated the offensive boards collecting four.
  • Ameela Li finished with nine points and had three steals, while Jessica Blakeslee racked up eight points and was perfect from the charity stripe.

  • 20 MORE: Luaulu-Summers' 26 points marks her fourth game this season scoring 20 or more points and the 11th of her career.
  • CLUTCH: Pacific was 11-of-12 from the charity stripe against the Toreros, a 92 percent free-throw percentage as the Tigers continue to lead the WCC in free-throw percentage.
